Alexis Gist – Community Liaison

A graduate from College of Charleston, with a double-major in Arts Management and Theater, Alexis has a valuable passion for the arts. She has experience in non-profit fundraising and event planning. Prior to coming on board with Carolina Studios, Alexis organized and produced an event specifically for Carolina Studios as a part of her Arts Management degree requirements. She also helped produce a Willie Nelson concert and currently works at Stella Nova salon. Her position is designed specifically to help Carolina Studios increase it’s breadth and raise money through interactive networking in the community and through social networking and other channels.
INSTRUCTORS
Beau Parent — Lead Instructor
Beau is a senior Arts Management major and Music minor at the College of Charleston. Raised in Connecticut, Beau plays the bass guitar as well as composes his own music electronically using a computer and various keyboards. Having volunteered with Carolina Studios as a staff instructor before becoming Lead Instructor, Beau is deeply tied to the roots of this organization.
Daniel Heredia — Lead Instructor Assistant
Dan is a senior at the College of Charleston working towards his Arts Management major and a Business Administration minor. He has a passion for entertainment, and especially music. Dan played percussion in middle and high school for marching, concert, and jazz bands. In order to stay involved with music after graduation, he focused his schooling on business with an entertainment and arts angle. Dan has worked for radio stations in upstate South Carolina and has been involved with College of Charleston Radio as well as Djing with a friend as a hobby, all in hopes of learning more about music and the music business while staying involved with his passion. He is an Eagle Scout and has enjoyed working with younger children for much of his life.
Austin Livingston — Instructor
Austin is currently an Arts Management Major at the College of Charleston. Having playing music since the sixth grade, Austin started off as a drummer and soon became a guitarist. Austin has been playing guitar for the last seven years in different bands and on his own. Through this period he has also gained an insight into audio recording. This he learned through being in several bands and helping recording each of them.
