TOUR THE MOBILE STUDIO
- studio areaThe entire front 2/3rds of the bus is set up with four studio workstations.
- wheelsThis puppy has chrome wheel covers! This simple addition to the mobile studio really packs a punch!
- generatorThis is where the on-board 8000-watt diesel generator is located. It is mounted underneath the bus and it runs off of the main fuel tank. Supply lines run up into the studio for good clean power.
- signs“In Session” signs pop out when the kids are hard at work creating music. This fun little adition makes sure everybody knows that some serious music is being made inside of the mobile studio!
- hvacsTop-mounted heat/AC units keep the mobile studio comfortable during all sessions.
- boothThe isolation booth for recording live vocals and other instruments is located at the back of the bus. There is a wall between the booth and the main studio area. The booth is soundproofed and treated for professional-quality acoustics.
- graphicsHigh-visibility graphics package. Allows people to see the mobile studio coming. Also, there are special sponsor areas built in.
- awningIntroducing the Carolina Studios Mobile Studio! Just to the right of this location is where the stage will be set up for on-site live performances by Carolina Studios students.
- LightingOverhead lighting to ensure everybody can see what they are doing!
- ScreensLarge Apple iMac flat-screens offering large viewing area for the students.
- WorkstationEach workstation has a MIDI keyboard input device, the computer keyboard, an output device for sending the signal to the main workstation, and a 4-channel headphone amplifier.
- SeatingErgonomic and supportive seating. When students are intensely focused on the computer, it is very important to ensure that they have a seat that maximizes posture and comfort.
- Main WorkstationThis is the main workstation. I has studio-grade speakers connected to it, a mixing console for instructors to listen in on each student’s progress, and controls for sending and receiving signals between the isolation booth and the main studio area.
- AC UnitOverhead-mounted AC units keep it cool on hot days. It is very important to create a comfortable environment for students to be as focused as possible.
- Isolation BoothThe isolation booth for recording live vocals and other instruments features a high-quality condenser recording microphone, headphones, and soundproofing material to create the perfect environment for students to record over their tracks.
- BenchCustom built bench with generous storage underneath. Students working in groups often sit here while another member in his or her group work the workstation. Carpeted backboard makes it easier on students’ backs.
